Grace has grown up so much in the last month! She is now a proficient mover, if not crawler. She can scoot herself backwards and under chairs with ease (see above).
She is likewise a master at going backwards in her walker.
And she LOVES to rock on her hands and knees. She is one buff chic and must do 100s of push ups a day getting to this position. She even does "the bridge" where she goes up on her toes...just to give herself more of a challenge. Now, if only she could figure out how to go forward. If she really wants something, she can inch her way forward by lunging. It is only a matter of time...
Taking a little rest.
In addition to her new mobile feats, Grace is getting very good at sitting. At first she thought sitting was no fun, and always just wanted to try and crawl, however, I have managed to show her how fun it can be to sit and play with toys (rather than balance on your side and play as she had been doing) and she is now interested.
I meant to do a post for Christmas, but things just got too crazy. Grace and I have had a cold and she has had a sinus infection--no fun. But, Christmas was wonderful. Below are a few pics of Grace's first Christmas.

The first Christmas after Steve and I got married, I created a door decoration for our apartment to help us remember the true gifts of Christmas... (see below) This year, when I saw this picture again, I couldn't help but think of how miraculous it is for us to have Grace this Christmas. She truly is a gift from Jesus, like Mercy itself. May we all think on the Graces we have all been given this last year, and from those thoughts, be filled with courage to face this new year with hope. Happy 2010!
